CIRCUMCISIONS

Medicaid has recently announced that newborn circumcisions (for prevention of infections and certain types of cancers) are now a covered benefit. 

 

Depending on where your baby is delivered, some hospitals will perform the circumcision before the baby is discharged.

Mountain View Pediatrics will continue to perform circumcisions in the first 1-2 weeks after discharge. Please let your provider know at the first post-discharge appointment if you are interested in circumcising your child.

Payment is required if insurance denies the claim however the procedure does not require pre-payment.
